Offered on:
Mondays: 2:15pm - 3:00pm or Wednesdays: 2:15pm - 3:00pm
Our Mission
A quality music education is one of the most wonderful gifts parents can offer their kids. And when children are most impressionable, what could be better than to surround them with joyful singing, dancing and musical activities? Weeboppers classes strive to provide families with the highest quality learning environment, ideal for dedicated parents who wish to start investing in a music education right from the beginning.
Our Program
Each Weeboppers class utilizes a curriculum composed entirely of original music, lyrics, games and activities developed through a joint effort by the Forte Music School creative team. The music is catchy, fun and most importantly...modern. The CD of music (included with your tuition) connects with the kids on a level that is fresh and exciting, while at the same time enjoyable to the parents’ ears as well.
Includes all materials:
Forte Original Music CD, Etc.
No previous musical experience is required; this is a great introductory class to ready students for future private lessons or camps.
(It is not required that you enroll in both sessions of the Wee*Boppers Class, but highly recommended if you are going to take Fundamentals Class.)

FUNDAMENTALS CLASS (Ages 4-5)
Offered in Two 45 Minute, 8 Weeks Sessions
Mondays 6:15 - 7:00pm or Fridays 1:45pm - 2:30pm
The Journey
Begin your musical journey with the comfort and confidence that can only be accomplished through the power of group instruction. One-on-one instruction is made all the more stronger with a solid foundation. We recommend that students start with Forte Fundamentals before taking private lessons. This class is designed to give students a fun and thorough introduction to their music studies, no matter what instrument they move into for private lessons.
Session 1:
Rhythmic Foundation
Students will play musical games, try out different instruments, sing and compose their own music. While we will make sure they have lots of fun, the main function of the first half of Forte Fundamentals is to establish a strong rhythmic base for their future learning. Students will work to solidify their rhythmical feel and accuracy. They also will begin reading and writing using standard rhythmic notation.
Session 2:
Melody and Pitch
The second half of Forte Fundamentals introduces students to the musical alphabet. Utilizing a small Xylophone, in the shape of a piano keyboard, students can visually begin to understand how the pitches work together to make music. By the end of the class a child can enter into one-on-one private instruction “with their feet running”. Give them a start that will not only shoot them out of the gate, but inspire and empower them on their musical journey.
Includes all materials:
Xylophone, Books, Etc. (which you will be able to keep).
No previous musical experience is required; this is a great introductory class to ready students for future private lessons or camps.
(It is not required that you enroll in both sessions of the Fundamentals Class, but highly recommended.)

PRACTICE TIPS:
- Practice every day in short sessions rather than once a week in a “cram” session.
- Set a timer and practice until timer rings
(set a time you will successfully be able to complete).
- Practice the same time every day.
- Play warm-ups such as scales, finger and/or bowing exercises.
- Review old pieces of music and exercises as warm up or as cool down after practice.
- Practice small sections of music or etudes and repeat many times.
- Focus on one element at a time
(left hand position, correct bowing or intonation, etc.)
- Write down any questions you have during your practice session, and be sure to ask your teacher about them during your lesson.
- Come up with your own ideas for making practicing easier.
- If it’s helpful, ask a family member or friend to listen to a piece you’re working on.
- Enjoy the movement of your fingers and arms as you play.

- Sign your child up for school orchestra, youth orchestra, or chamber music ensemble.
- Encourage your child to play for other members of the family, friends, and neighbors.
